Thornton Road Club has the use of an approved ten-mile time trial course which it employs for competitions during the summer months. The course has headquarters and car parking at Newchurch Village Hall, Romney Marsh. The start of the course is in a small lane about half a mile west of St Mary in the Marsh. The course proceeds southeast to the main road and then northeast through St Mary in the Marsh to the junction with the New Romney/Newchurch road, then north to Newchurch where it turns west to Brooker Farm, Lodgeland Farm and Moat House/Poplar farm. It then turns southeast through Ivychurch to the first turning left where is passes Beechcroft farm and Honeychild Manor to the finish. The course is relatively flat throughout, at between 2 metres and 4 metres above sea level. Prevailing wind is from the south west.
