Join us at the 'Seaside Rendezvous' on Saturday 12 May

Join us at the 'Seaside Rendezvous' on Saturday 12 May, a family fun day celebrating the new Bulverhythe Coastal Link between Bexhill and Hastings. The new Bulverhythe Coastal Link is part of Sustrans' national project bringing the National Cycle Network into the heart of communities across the UK.

This new beachside pedestrian and cycle route stretches for 1.4 miles along beautiful coastline between Bexhill and Hastings. It includes a Portrait Bench, depicting three local heroes, chosen by the community. Opened in January 2012, the route provides a safe alternative to the busy A259 and will improve access to the coast and beach.

Come along from 10am – 3pm and join the local community in a fun filled day of activities, rides and entertainment that all the family will enjoy.
Activities include:
  • Guided walks and led rides
  • 'Kissing bikes' world record attempt
  • Be part of the 'Big Photo' as we recreate the picture, above
  • Bling Your Bike sessions
  • Treasure Hunt Family ride – take part on the day and get a goodie bag
  • Bike powered 'ArtRage' – make art on a bike
  • Dr Bike – bike maintenance
  • Bike powered fruit smoothie maker
  • Kids colouring and craft
  • Face painting
Take part in our Fresh Air Miles treasure hunt which will take place on  the beach and along a stretch of the traffic free cycle route. Everyone taking part will receive a Sustrans goody bag and be entered into a prize draw for the chance to win a pair of specialized bikes.

Be sure to visit the Sustrans stand so that kids (and adults!) can get creative with our pedal powered art attack bike or get involved with a 'Bling your Bike' session to really stand out from the crowd.

For directions to the event and a timetable of activities please see the East Sussex County Council website.
