Pat's Coastal Challenge in aid of the Stroke Association.

As some of you will be aware I have set myself a challenge of riding round the coastline of England and Wales in support of the Stroke Association. I started in the summer of 2009 and have now reached Gillingham, with only the coastal route via the Isel of Sheppey to Whitstable (my original start point) left to do. I have already clocked up 3,500 miles and by the time I finish it will be about 3, 600!!

Some of you have expressed an interest not only in riding with me on the final leg (the morning of my grand entrance baxck into Whitstable where the press will be waiting and friends and family) but also being at the finish for when I arrive.

After considering a number of dates so as to accommodate as many people who have helped and supported me as possible have decided that the date is looking like Saturday 26th March 2011. I will confirm that date once I have confirmed my booking of Smeeth village hall for the evening bash!
Paul has offered to request the use of Whitstable yacht club premises for the lunchtime finish during the day.
I have chosen the Saturday rather than the Sunday as I have a number of people travelling from other parts of the British Isles and they will need to travel home on the Sunday, hopefully choosing the Saturday will not be too inconvenient for Thornton Road Club members to attend!
If you are looking to ride with me on the final leg, then I suggest Faversham recreation ground as a good start point for the final 10 miles into Whitstable via Graveney and Seasalter.

I will post confirmed details nearer the time,

Many thanks
Pat Geary
